Hello my fellow humans โ๐ฝ
Cheers to another beautiful day to do a little extra for our planet.
I would like to take a moment to share with you the earth-friendly/conscious changes I have made over the course of the passed two years:
1- 95% less use of paper towels, napkins, plates
2- Started using a composter bucket (I got the bucket from the City) in the kitchen where ALL food waste goes and once full, one dumps it into the Green Waste bin for pickup. This maneuver was tricky for me as I wasn’t sure how to go about food waste disposal. So, I called the City Office where I live and asked how to properly dispose of food waste using the Green Waste bin. I was trepidatious at first because I didn’t feel right tossing my food scraps into the green waste bin even though I know how important it is to do so. After a few weeks I began to feel confident about the process. It’s a good feeling to do my part in reducing the amount of methane produced from food scraps by composting them instead of tossing them into the trash.
3– 99% less use of plastic wrap
4– Reusing all packaging material
5– After the box of cotton swabs I have left, I will no longer purchase more.
6– Started buying environmentally friendly tooth pluckers.
7– Buying recyclable items of all sorts: foods, home, car, garden, gifts and more.
8– Continue to learn more about how to keep our planet healthy by: recycling properly, finding Green Washing companies and stop doing business with them, contacting companies with suggestions how to be more eco friendly, and more.
You get the picture. It truly is now to get in motion to maintain and enhance our planet’s health–today and all of the tomorrows to come after we are ourselves become compost.
Cheers to you and all your efforts to make a difference.
